The Women Impact Investing Network (WIIN) together with the Women Innovators and Leaders Network (WILD Network hosted a fireside chat with two great trailblazers in the impact and development space.  The event captured the interplay between international development and impact investing. The dialogue  highlighted how professionals in both fields can break down silos to improve collaboration and it will provide insights into the journeys, successes, and challenges of these two amazing entrepreneurs.

WIIN is brought together a panel of women to share their experiences in how they've balanced working in impact investing while ensuring they are taking care of their own wellbeing in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. The panel addressed the topic from several angles, including how women, especially mothers, in the industry are coping during COVID-19, how employers/managers can support their teams, and share some tips on promoting individual wellness during a time when boundaries often get de-prioritized especially for those working in mission-based industries.

The COVID-19 crisis has laid bare the vulnerabilities in our economic, health, education and social systems. The crisis is confirming and compounding deeply entrenched inequities in our society—inequities rooted in long-standing structural racism. Through the lens of activists and investors, panelists will deepen our understanding of the historical context for these vulnerabilities.

The rise of female focused VC funds and ecosystem builders combined with the increase in the number of female VC partners and impact investing opportunities is creating a movement around closing the gender funding gap. Join us for a panel discussion where we'll outline best practices for women entrepreneurs and funding opportunities for women-led social impact businesses.
